Den Smith
Born and raised in St. Louis County, Den Smith is a confirmed suburbanite. After a bout of wandering and wondering he moved back to his roots in 2001 and lives in the small township of Green Park, Missouri, where he creates art in his garage studio.
Den has been an artist for over four decades, using narrative images to explore and expand on his reflections of who we are, where we came from and where are we going. Den carves and fabricates parts out of scrap wood that he finds, combining it with other found items and metals to assemble his art. Paint is his final enhancement, and he uses a variety of types and techniques to complete his pieces. Each work Den produces evolves into a new direction with new wonders and wanderings.
